WHO CAN DRIVE THE KARTS?

We want anybody and everybody to be able to experience driving a go-kart but due to insurance restrictions you will have to wait until you reach your 8th birthday before you can drive at A12 Karters and even then you need to be at least 135cm tall (over 4 foot 5 inches).

We now have a fleet of Childrens electric powered karts for those who haven’t reached the age and height limit quite yet but who still want to try their hand on the track.

WHAT MEMBERSHIP WILL I BE GIVEN?

If you are between 8 and 15 years old you will be given a “junior” membership card. As soon as you reach your 16th birthday you will be given an “adult” membership card.

In order to progress an adult membership, we will need a credible form of identification, such as utility bill, passport, driving licence etc. In the case of Junior membership, the ID relating to the accompanying adult will be sufficient.

CAN I DRIVE ANY KART?

If you are an adult member then you can drive any kart but you may wish to choose a junior kart and to use the learning track to gain experience before you move onto the adult karts on the full track. This can often help build your confidence and in the long term help you become a better driver. Junior karts are very similar to the adult karts, however they have lower power outputs and are therefore ideal to learn on.

Just tell the member of staff who handles your booking. To encourage everyone to give karting a try we charge a reduced rate for a junior kart on the learning track, it’s a great way to see if you like it.

All junior members MUST start in a junior kart to show the race director that you are safe to drive before you are allowed to drive adult go-karts. Often this will need you to show that you can maintain a good average lap time and that you are not hitting the barriers or other drivers. Once you have done this your membership record will be upgraded to “full kart access” to show you have reached the required level. Should your skills deteriorate then your access may be downgraded to “junior kart access” until you regain the required skill level.

Further to the rule above, if you are a junior member and under 12 years old you need to show the race director that you can steer, speed up and slow down safely before you are allowed access to the full track. This learning will take place on the junior track in a junior kart under the guidance and training of our staff. Once the race director is happy that you are safe to use the full track your membership will be upgraded to “full track access”. All junior karts on the learning track are charged at a reduced rate.

We have an extensive fleet and will be able to cater for all sizes of driver. Some of the adult karts have been specially purchased with adjustable seats for the smaller driver.

A note from the owners Paul and Louise Carter,

“We have created these rules because we want everyone to have a go and we know that for some we need to help you gain confidence but we also want to make sure everyone stays as safe as possible. By cutting our prices to a reduced rate for junior karts on the learning track, we hope that everyone will come and give it a go."

To help make the rules easier to understand we have created the following flow chart
